School Board Makes Selections for 1912-13 Staff in
Public Schools : Several Fail to Apply
New Names Appear in List - Prof. T. L. Toland is
Re-Elected Superintendent for Next Session
A full crops [sic.] of teachers for the Wichita Falls
Schools has been chosen by the school board. A number
of the teachers were not applicants again and their places
were filled by others. Those not applying were L. B.
Gill R. M. Johnson, George Medders, Miss Clara Parker, Miss
Lizzie Lawler, Miss Margaret Bankhead, Miss Hattie
Stallings, Miss Kate McFadden, Lavina Randall and Eula
Washington of the negro school.
The teaching corps for the ensuing year will be as
follows
T. L. Toland, superintendent.
J.B. Jones, principal high school.
W. K. Niles, principal Austin school
Miss Bessie Stewart, principal San Jacinto School
Miss E. M. Perry, principal Travis school
Miss Alice Gordon, supervisor music and drawing
C. C. Trimble, principal Washington negro school
High school teachers - Miss Emma Childers, history; Miss
Etta Allder, domestic science; F. E. Barr, manual training;
E. L. Vance, English; Delmar Owen, modern language; Miss
Helen Beavers, Latin; Miss Jessie Hichman, 7th grade; Miss
Eva Stratton, 7th grade.
