Monroe, LA High School Class of 1908

MONROE

The event of the week was the brilliant commencement of the City High School. Nine graduates received diplomas. They were:

Misses Gladys Oliver, Daisy Strong, Olivette Broadway, Clara Wetzel, Clara Goodson, Rosalie Marx,

Messrs. Bennett Cooke, Wathen Johnston and Adlai Gladden

Some quartets were rendered by the students, under the direction of Miss Alice Graham, Supervisor of Music, and a large audience filled the auditorium. Owing to the shortness in funds, however, the departments of music and drawing have been cut out of the school for next year, much to the regret of the patrons.
