Chadron, NE High School Class of 1890 Graduation
CHADRON, Neb., June 10.—(Special.)—The second annual commencement exercises of the Chadron high school took place this evening. The large opera house which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion, was completely filled, and the standing room was at a premium.
There were nine names on the roll of the graduating class, six young ladies and three young gentlemen. Following is the roster:
Mamie P. Sayers, Maud P. Weir, Annie J. Wright, Anna Jeffers, Lydia Mako, Ora E. Jennings, George Havens, Deloss Barber and Henry Mako.
The addresses of the graduates were all very creditable. Those of Misses Sayers and Wright and Henry Mako seemed to have been the favorites with the audience. Each of the graduates at the conclusion of their addresses got a profusion of flowers and some very costly and appropriate presents. The diplomas were presented by the Rev. Read of Rushville in a short but eloquent and appropriate address. Prof. Denton, the principal of the Chadron high school for the last year, deserves great praise for his leadership has been a source of pride to the people of Chadron.
