Tarrytown, NY Home Institute Graduation 1899

TARRYTOWN.

Commencement exercises at the Home Institute, Miss Metccalf’s school, were held on Thursday evening and attended by a large number of friends of the graduates. The school was beautifully decorated with palms, flowers and potted plants. An interesting programme, consisting of choruses, duets, recitations and essays, was given by the students. The valedictorian was Miss Ida M. Brown. The diplomas were awarded by Miss Metcalf, after which the Rev. Arnold H. Redding, rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, addressed the graduates. They were Miss Grace S. Tompkins, Miss Edith D. Clapp and Miss Ada May Brown.
