The Social Security Death Index is a huge
database containing a listing of persons who had a Social
Security number, who are deceased, and whose death was reported
to the Social Security Administration. If you find a
person in the Death Index you will learn the date of birth, date
of death, and Social Security Number for that person, as well
as, the applicant's state of residence at the time he applied
for the card. The SSDI currently contains over 75,000,000
individuals and is updated monthly.
