Pyron Makes Graduation An All-Day Fete
SNYDER, May 1.---First major school closing program of the year was Pyron's church service, held at Wastella Baptist church Sunday evening at 8:00. Rev. J. C. Foote, Roscoe Methodist minister, gave the sermon.
Special music was arranged by Robert Taylor and Mrs. N. E. Simmons.
Dr. Frank L. Turner, president of McMurry college, Abilene will be the commencement speaker in the gymnasium Friday evening, May 3. Roy O. Irvin, county superintendent, will be the speaker for closing exercises if the grammar school at 11:00 o'clock the same day. An all day affair, dinner on the grounds and ball games in the afternoon will be closing exercise features.
There will be 16 eleventh graduates and 12 high school graduates. Following are the high school seniors; Mary Frances Glass, valedictorian; Mable Glass, salutatorian; Oleta Blair, Velda Clark, Gladys Light, Bill Moseley, Odell Miller, James Reed, J. z. McGlothlin, Tilman Parker, Demsey Darden, and Roy Kimzey. Miller is the highest ranking boy.
